Using humor, unique insights, and brotherly love, in this episode, The Derringer Brothers - Paul & Dave - take you on a musical adventure through the best of Todd "the Runt" Rundgren's more than 54 years as a songwriter, singer, musician, and producer.  Paul & Dave cover Rundgren's impressive catalog of hits, including songs you may not even realize he wrote!  Learn about Rundgren's formative years with the Philadelphia band Nazz, his ground-breaking solo years, and his on-going relationship as the leader of the band Utopia.

This episode gives you a quick and fun-filled lesson in everything about the Runt.  As it turns out, Paul & Dave were in fact successful in convincing you, the listeners, to put Rundgren in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at Rockhall.com, where, having first qualified in 1996, he will finally be admitted as part of the class of 2021.

In addition, Paul & Dave shed some light about a few of the bands and hit songs that Rundgren has produced through the years, including one album that has sold 50 million copies worldwide.

Visit the Todd Rundgren Playlist for the songs discussed in this episode.

Hitmaker Dean Friedman joins Team Derringer for a rollicking retrospective of his musical journey and body of work. They sift through songs laced with a few spicy words and engage in conversations that might not suit a younger audience. It's not quite "cover your grandma's ears" stuff, but it's definitely not for the kindergarten crowd. Think of this episode as "PG-13"—a little bit naughty, but all in the spirit of fun. Team Derringer's squeaky-clean reputation? Well, it's taking a tiny holiday!

In this episode, Team Derringer features At the Starlight, a South Florida-based indie rock quartet with members hailing from Cuba, Israel, Puerto Rico, and the state of Montana! The band At the Starlight derived their name from a song lyric by another group, which goes, "Throwing rocks at the starlight." The guitarist, Dari, was fond of the phrase and proposed it to the other band members—Anabel, Jino, and Jeremy—who agreed on it through a vote. Born from a chance online encounter, the band has grown and evolved to include some of the simplicity and polish associated with pop-rock while maintaining ties to folk influences from its roots.
