BRIDEY MURPHY

15 APR 2022: Greg Alderette of the Austin, Texas band Bridey Murphy thanked Derringer Discoveries for helping their new single "Walk Away" hit 5,000+ streams the first week of their EP release. "Walk Away" is featured on Derringer Discoveries "Artists for Ukraine" playlist.

Greg also informed us that they are releasing a new single titled "How Are You?" for May's National Mental Health Awareness month. Greg's idea led to us creating, with Greg's support, our "How Are You?" playlist for Mental Health Awareness, which, in addition to the US, is commemorated by other countries, such as the United Kingdom. For Greg giving us this idea, his band gets to hold the #1 spot on this new playlist.

If you are a recording artist and you would like to submit your song for consideration of inclusion on this playlist, please send a link to your song to us at feedback@derringerdiscoveries.com and put "How Are You?" in the subject.

BOXED LUNCH

17 APR 2022: The Charlottesville-based melodic rock band gave a shout-out to Derringer Discoveries on their Facebook page. They said "[a] big thanks to Derringer Discoveries for featuring some of our songs in their playlists. Check out the podcast and check out their great cultivated playlists!"  A shout-out like that deserves a return shout-out: "Boxed Lunch Rocks!"

LOST//YOUTH

APR 2022: During April, we have communicated often with Alanna Joy of the Cape Town, South Africa band Lost//Youth. We asked Alanna about the whistling that can be clearly heard at the beginning and end of Lost//Youth's fantastic new song "Burn Every Bridge." Alanna assured us that the whistling is real and that she is the one who did it. She told us "I think I did at least 50 takes of the whistle before we got the one on the track!" Kudos to Alanna and her band Lost//Youth. If you haven't yet heard Burn Every Bridge, this is your chance to "Like" and listen to Artists for Ukraine which features this song. Plus, this song is on the Turnip Tiller ballot for the May 2022 Turnip Music Radio Top 25. Hopefully our Turnip Tillers will feel the same way about "Burn Every Bridge" that we do!

IN.VADE

MAR 2022: The Kyiv, Ukrainian rock band In.Vade was one of nine featured recording artists in our Episode 31 on Listening to Ukraine. Since then, as we have reported, we have heard several times from In.Vade's Illia Kaplunenko thanking us for featuring them in the episode and including them on several playlists. In addition, we recently learned that In.Vade posted a shout-out to us on Instagram. The original is in Ukrainian, but we've translated it into English below:

MATIA

APR 2022: Recording artist, Matia, from Oregon (US), California (US), and Greece was one of many from around the world who submitted a song to us for inclusion on our Artists for Ukraine playlist. She also made our day with her kind words, so we are returning the favor. Listeners, check out Matia's catalog and in particular her song Children as featured on our Artists for Ukraine playlist. And to Matia: "Kudos to you and your compelling songs."
